Job Summary

The roles and responsibilities of a cashier include handling customer transactions accurately while providing good customer service.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or with related field of study

• Experience: 2 -3 years in cashier/ accountant position

• Salary and Benefits : Negotiable

• Place of work : Yeka woreda 08 Around 22 Mazoria Avenue

Duties and Responsibilities :

Processing Payments

• Receive cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments, or checks.

• Issue receipts and provide correct change.

Customer Service

• Greet customers politely.

• Answer questions about products, prices, or store policies.

• Resolve basic customer concerns or refer them to a supervisor.

Operating the Cash Register/POS System

• Scan items and enter prices accurately.

• Process discounts, coupons, refunds, and exchanges according to company policy.

Balancing the Cash Drawer

• Count cash at the beginning and end of each shift.

• Ensure the cash drawer matches sales records.

• Report any shortages or discrepancies.

Maintaining Accurate Records

• Record daily transactions.

• Prepare cash reports and deposits when required.

Maintaining a Clean Checkout Area

• Keep the checkout counter organized and clean.

• Ensure shopping bags, receipt paper, and other supplies are stocked.

Following Company Policies

• Adhere to cash-handling and security procedures.

• Protect customer payment information and maintain confidentiality.

Supporting Store Operations

• Assist with stocking shelves or arranging merchandise when needed.

• Help with inventory counts and price checks.

• Promote loyalty programs or special offers, if applicable.
