Aynalem Amare Import & Export is one of a leading Ethiopian trading company based in Addis Ababa, specializing in export of industrial minerals and agricultural products. In addition ,Aynalem Amare Impex is supplier of industrial raw materials (chemicals)to various factories( different industries and manufacturers) in the country.

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for recording financials transactions, journal entries, posting , AR/AP processing, conduct bank reconciliations, ledger and undertake monthly and annual financial statements/reports and closing processes

Job Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or with related field of study

Experience:

• 6 -8 years in accounting, with at least 1 year in Import and Export company.

• Proven experience as an accounting supervisor, senior accountant

• Good Experience with general ledger , journal , posting functions and the month end/year-end close process

Quantity Required: 1

Salary: Negotiable and very attractive

Term of Employment: Permanent after completion of probation period

Place of work: Yeka woreda 08 Around 22 Mazoria Avenue

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

• Maintain general ledger and journal entries

• Lead and undertake month-end and year-end closing processes

• Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures

• Oversee daily accounting activities and cash management

• Ensure timely payment of taxes, and compliance with tax regulations

• Conduct internal audits and assist with external audits

• Coordinate with banks, suppliers, and government bodies( tax Authorities)

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Perform other finance-related tasks as assigned.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, ERP systems, IFRS)

• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures

• In-depth understanding of GAAP

• Familiarity with financial accounting statements/reports

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

• Time management & Adaptability

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Advanced MS Excel skills(MS Office Pack: Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Power point)

• Good Communication & strong attention to detail and accuracy
